It was really kind of Patricia & Alastair to offer us a later checkout which meant we could have a more leisurely morning after the previous late night. There was a problem with the oven while we were there but they were only too happy to help us. Loads of lovely little extras, like the table laid beautifully, the welcome drinks, milk & chocolates. I just LOVED relaxing in the orangery with a book & a cup of tea. The area itself is a lovely little village with beautiful surroundings. Such great price for such lovely accommodation. The house is homely & comfortable & the lovely garden has plenty of seating for relaxing outside with a welcome drink from the ‘drinks tray’. The garden is secure for dogs to wander around, so no worries if they’re slightly nervous being in new surroundings. The house is set in a picturesque village & is in a great location to explore the Cotswolds. Bourton-on-the-water, Stow-on-the-Wold & Lower Slaughter were very quaint places to visit & there were plenty of leaflets & maps with suggestions of things to do. The extra touches such as the water & chocolates in the bedroom, the drinks tray, ice creams in the freezer & beers in the fridge, just makes this place extra special. Alastair & Patricia were really friendly & very helpful offering advice where to walk the dogs & where to eat out. Nothing was too much for them & we would all totally recommend staying here...”

We were a family group of 5 adults, 2 dogs & 1 baby & found the house & garden excellent for socialising as a group as well as there being ample space for the family to spread out. Patricia & Alistair are generous hosts . As soon as we were unpacked, we could get straight onto our birthday celebrations with the help of the luxuries left by our hosts. We were most grateful that they had purchased a mat for the bath for our baby granddaughter which they also insisted that we take home with us. The village is lovely with a nearby playground & dog walks within minutes from the house. As Patricia & Alistair didn't have guests arriving on the day of our check out, they very kindly delayed our check out for a couple of hours. We look forward to a return visit...”

The location is ideal for touring the Cotswolds. The owners gave us a very warm welcome including some welcome drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). They are very dog friendly and the house has a large downstairs area with a tiled floor so good even in muddy weather. The garden is properly secure for the dogs and ours had a fabulous time exploring and playing in it. There is an outside tap for paw rinsing and a dog towel was provided. There is off road parking and good dog walking from the house as well as being in close driving range of many more walks and great places to visit.

" ... Outstanding. This is a very comfortable and characterful property nestled in a quiet little village in the West Midlands - an absolutely quintessentially English setting. The proprietors Patricia and Alistair reside in a separate, smaller building onsite. They were unfailingly gracious and went out of their way to assist us. You can?t really ask for a more warm, friendly and delightfully caring couple! On arrival they handed us a welcome package that included a number of excellent eateries within easy driving range. We tried Edgehill Castle and the Bell at Shenington, which were both delicious, but then we went to the Boxing Hare and that was just superb - true fine dining. The property itself is magnificently done up, including three cosy bedrooms, a spacious sun room, a very pretty lawn, and all modern amenities in terms of appliances and WiFi. Step outside the property and you are confronted with rolling meadows crisscrossed by quaint fences, with sheep grazing and horses trotting about. The town of Banbury, which has an urban shopping center, is 15 min by car. We stayed five nights and time just flew past. It was over all too soon!..."
